Thermobox Not Included
Requires 2 x 150mm Thermobox units.
Our dual Thermobox compact makeup air system has been designed to solve one of the biggest challenges when building airtight homes: makeup air for kitchen rangehoods.
Traditionally, Thermobox installations have required mounting inside repurposed metal enclosures, custom-fabricated support timbers, and oversized duct reducers at each end. While functional, these arrangements can be bulky, time-consuming to assemble, and often result in a less-than-ideal finished installation.
Printed in-house with a professional 3D printer from UV stable acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA), our compact housing is precision-designed to securely accommodate two Thermobox dampers in a single integrated assembly. Internal locating ribs hold each Thermobox firmly in position, while a dedicated 25mm clearance zone allows the dampers to fully open and operate without restriction.
The housing features elongated oval duct connections designed to suit 200mm flexible duct, eliminating the need for large reducers and significantly reducing the overall installation footprint. Measuring just 310mm wide, 159mm high, and 243mm long, it provides a neat, professional solution where roof, ceiling, or bulkhead space is limited.
To ensure optimal performance:
- Mount the housing perfectly level to ensure optimal operation. The flat top mounting surface and integrated L-brackets make accurate installation simple and secure.
- Use insulated ducting to minimise condensation and heat loss.
- Pull ducting tight and trim to the correct length before securing.
- Support all ductwork with appropriate hanging straps to prevent sagging or kinks.
- Ensure airflow direction is correctly matched to the Thermobox installation requirements.
- Keep duct runs as short and straight as practical to minimise pressure losses.
Each housing is manufactured using a professional-grade Bambu Lab H2D Pro 3D printer and undergoes fit testing to ensure precise Thermobox seating and reliable operation. Designed and made in Australia, it provides a compact, purpose-built solution for high-quality makeup air installations while eliminating the need for improvised brackets, oversized enclosures, and on-site fabrication.
