Brink Flair HRV/ERV Systems

The Brink Flair range is one of the most advanced residential ventilation systems available worldwide. Designed and manufactured in the Netherlands, Brink Flair systems deliver outstanding indoor air quality, ultra-quiet operation, and exceptional energy efficiency — making them ideal for airtight homes, energy-efficient new builds, renovations, and Passivhaus Certified projects.

The Brink Flair is available in four capacities:

  • 225 m3/h — 4 x 125mm duct connections.
  • 325 m3/h — 4 x 160mm duct connections.
  • 400 m3/h — 4 x 180mm duct connections.
  • 600 m3/h — 4 x 200mm duct connections.

Each capacity is available in right-hand or left-hand orientation:

  • Right-hand orientation places the internal connections on the right and the connections to outside on the left.
  • Left-hand orientation places the internal connections on the left and the connections to outside on the right.

Each orientation of each capacity is available with a HRV or ERV core.

Brink Flair 225 HRV/ERV Systems

The Brink Flair 225 is the smallest unit in the Flair range, yet sets the benchmark for performance in a compact format. With a maximum airflow of 225 m³/h, it is the most premium HRV/ERV system available in this footprint, making it ideal for apartments, townhouses, and smaller high-performance homes. Despite its modest size — just 600 mm (w) × 650 mm (h) × 455 mm (d) — the Flair 225 delivers exceptional efficiency, with the HRV heat exchanger achieving up to 92% heat recovery and the ERV core up to 82% energy recovery. Importantly, all Flair models are certified by the Passive House Institute, providing independent assurance of performance, efficiency, and suitability for airtight, energy-efficient homes.

Brink Flair 325 HRV/ERV Systems

The Brink Flair 325 is the most popular model in the Flair range and is ideally suited to the majority of Australian homes. With a maximum airflow of 325 m³/h, it offers an excellent balance of capacity, efficiency, and installation flexibility for typical family dwellings. Measuring 750 mm (w) × 650 mm (h) × 560 mm (d), the Flair 325 delivers outstanding efficiency, with the HRV heat exchanger achieving up to 91% heat recovery and the ERV core up to 83% energy recovery. Importantly, all Flair models are certified by the Passive House Institute, providing independent assurance of performance, efficiency, and suitability for airtight, energy-efficient homes.

Brink Flair 400 HRV/ERV Systems

The Brink Flair 400 is designed for slightly larger homes that require greater airflow capacity without increasing installation space. With a maximum airflow of 400 m³/h, it provides powerful, efficient ventilation while fitting within the same compact footprint as the Flair 325. Measuring 750 mm (w) × 650 mm (h) × 560 mm (d), the Flair 400 delivers exceptional efficiency, with the HRV heat exchanger achieving up to 92% heat recovery and the ERV core up to 81% energy recovery. Importantly, all Flair models are certified by the Passive House Institute, providing independent assurance of performance, efficiency, and suitability for airtight, energy-efficient homes.

Brink Flair 600 HRV/ERV Systems

The Brink Flair 600 is the largest and most powerful unit in the Flair range, designed for very large homes with higher ventilation demands. With a maximum airflow of 600 m³/h, it delivers exceptional whole-of-home ventilation where smaller systems are insufficient. While it has a larger footprint — 850 mm (w) × 800 mm (h) × 660 mm (d) — this allows for a substantially larger heat exchange core, enabling the Flair 600 to maintain higher efficiency than many similarly sized systems. As a result, the HRV heat exchanger achieves up to 92% heat recovery, while the ERV core delivers up to 74% energy recovery. Importantly, all Flair models are certified by the Passive House Institute, providing independent assurance of performance, efficiency, and suitability for airtight, energy-efficient homes.

Brink Flair HRV/ERV Accessories

The Brink Flair connectivity accessories allow you to remotely control the system and automatically ensure excellent air in your home.

  • The Plus PCB adds WiFi and LAN connectivity and allows control of the ventilation system via the Brink Home app.
  • The In-Duct Humidity Sensor measures the humidity of the stale air leaving the home and allows the system to automatically increase ventilation in the event of a sudden increase in relative humidity (due to cooking or showering).
  • The Wired CO2 Sensor measures CO2 levels in the home. As soon as the sensor measures CO2 concentrations in a room climbing, because there are people in it, the ventilation level is increased to counteract the CO2 concentration in the house.
  • The Air Control wall controller is a full-featured remote that provides access to all settings and control of the system from a more convenient location.
  • The Touch Control wall controller is a simplified remote that provides control of the system from a more convenient location.

Brink Flair HRV/ERV Wireless Sensors

All sensors and switches are wireless and simple to install. The RH sensors, RH sensors with boost function and the individual 3-position switch have a built-in battery (lasts at least 2 years). The CO2 sensors and CO2 sensors with built-in 3-position switch require a 230V power supply.

The Wireless Transmitter and Receiver is essential for connecting the sensors. Each system requires one transmitter/receiver, which can connect with up to 12 individual sensors or switches (4 x 3-position switches, 4 x CO2 sensors and 4 x RH sensors).

Brink Flair HRV/ERV Filters

Replacement filter sets are readily available. Performance of the Brink Flair system can only be guaranteed with original Brink filters.

  • The Pure Induct ionisation air filter is ozone free and offers better than HEPA performance, without the increased resistance, allowing year-round operation.
  • Two filter options are available for the Pure Induct. The standard Electrostatic Filter is required at all times. The optional Active Carbon Filter can be added to filter odours and chemical contaminants.
  • Replacements Filters for the Flair 225/325/400/600 include 2 filters: an ePM1 F7 supply filter and a Course G4 extract filter.

Ubbink Air Excellent Ductwork

The Ubbink Air Excellent range is the benchmark for radial ventilation ductwork. It is the only system certified to ATC1 — the highest airtightness class — independently tested at ±1000 Pa, far beyond real-world HRV and ERV operating pressures.

Air Excellent is also uniquely TÜV SÜD and ISEGA certified and REACH compliant, verifying airtightness, material safety, hygiene, and long-term suitability for residential ventilation.

Manufactured with anti-static and antimicrobial properties and engineered for exceptionally low air resistance, the system delivers lower duct pressures than competing radial ductwork. Every component is designed to work as a complete system to minimise pressure loss.

Ubbink Air Excellent is available in four sizes:

  • AE48C — 90 mm outer diameter.
  • AE34C — 75 mm outer diameter.
  • AE45SC — 50 x 140 mm outer diameter.
  • AE35SC — 50 x 100 mm outer diameter.

Circular ducting (AE48C, AE34C) is the most cost-effective option, offering the lowest air resistance and is preferred wherever space allows. Semi-circular ducting (AE45SC, AE35SC) is used where height is limited, allowing ducts to be concealed in shallow cavities.

Good system design keeps air velocity below 3 m/s to reduce noise. Larger ducts (AE48C, AE45SC) carry higher airflow with lower resistance than smaller sizes (AE34C, AE35SC) and often allow one duct to replace two smaller ducts.

Ubbink Air Excellent Distribution Boxes

Distribution boxes connect the ventilation unit to supply and extract valves, with airflow balanced using restrictors at each connection. Distribution box selection depends on airflow, duct count, and system design, and Air Excellent distribution boxes uniquely accept all duct types, allowing different duct sizes to be used within the same system.

  • The 200 Series is a modular system designed for smaller air volumes and space-constrained installations.
  • The 800 Series offers a universal, high-capacity solution, and supports mass-flow duct connections from 125 to 200 mm using stepped adaptors.

Ubbink Air Excellent Valves and Grilles

The Haelix valve is a modern supply and extract valve for residential ventilation systems, available in round and square designs for DN125 valve adaptors. It uses the Coanda effect for even air distribution and includes a flange to reduce ceiling dust deposits. Haelix has a 9-step air flow restrictor, but when used with Air Excellent systems, airflow is set at the distribution box so the valve installs without the need for additional adjustment.

Ubbink floor/wall grilles combine elegant design with high functionality, ensuring smooth airflow and a clean finish in any interior. The rectangular air inlet ensures a smooth and efficient flow of fresh air into living spaces.

Ubbink Air Excellent Accessories

Air Excellent accessories are designed to complete, adapt, and fine-tune centralised HRV/ERV installations. The range includes stepped and inline adaptors for connecting mass-flow ducting, internal and external air restrictors for accurate airflow balancing, direct connection sleeves for AE48C 90° bends, acoustic insulation for noise reduction, protective covers, universal mounting brackets for semi-rigid ducts, and purpose-made cutting tools for clean, precise duct preparation. Together, these components ensure flexible installation, correct airflow distribution, low noise performance, and a professional finish.
