Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) Kits (AC Motors)
Let customers speak for us
A Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) System is a Cheaper, Less Sophisticated, DIY Alternative to a DVS EC Premium Connect Home Ventilation System.
PIV is a highly effective cure for condensation, mould, dampness and its associated problems within residential properties. It pushes harmful air out of the home and replaces it with fresh, filtered air.
PIV works by drawing fresh air in through the unit that’s installed in your roof space. This air is then filtered and gently diffused at ceiling level, creating a positive pressure within the home that forces air pollutants out through the natural leakage gaps in your home.
Fresh Ventilation's PIV kits are available in four sizes, with and without 7 day timers and thermostats, with air flow ranging between 560 m³/h and 865 m³/h.

Components
200mm Centrifugal Fan
This is the motor. It is suspended in your roof space by hanging strap so that vibrations can't be transferred through the structure. 1 and 2 room kits use a smaller R2E190 motor. 3 and 4 room kits use a larger R2E220 motor.
DVS Hybrid Helix Filter (Left) and DVS Filter Cage (Right)
The DVS Hybrid Helix Filter is installed over the DVS Filter Cage. The DVS Filter Cage is attached to the intake side of the fan motor. The MERV15 Helix filter is kinder to the environment and provides superior filtration. The patented Helix filter technology actively cleans the air to remove even the very small particles and airborne pollutants, which other filters may not remove. Resulting in cleaner air for you and your home.
200mm V-Flex Duct
This flexible duct is made in Australia and joins all of the components of the system together. It is much stronger than standard flexible duct.
200mm DVS Flat Diffuser
These custom moulded white plastic diffusers are installed in your ceiling and require a 226mm cutout. The flat diffusers are used in each of the rooms where fresh filtered air is needed. Each flat diffuser includes two 90 degree wedges allowing you to direct (or block) airflow in certain directions. They are connected to the fan via ducting.
IntelliSwitch ST-CS (PIV Plus Model Only)
The IntelliSwitch ST-CS is installed on your wall and used to switch on and off the PIV Plus system. It allows automatic temperature and timer based operation whenever your roof space is above or below a set temperature.

Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) Systems
Positive Input Ventilation (also known as positive pressure ventilation) works as a whole house ventilation system and creates fresh and healthy living environments by supplying fresh, filtered air into a home.
There are several advantages to this sort of low-pressure ventilation. It ensures a constant flow of fresh, filtered air through your home, regardless of the conditions inside or outside the house.
This can be crucial to prevent the build-up of moisture and associated problems, which can include the growth of mould and damp patches. A damp environment can exacerbate some health problems, such as asthma, can cause damage to your home that is expensive to rectify, and generally create an unpleasant environment.
The pressurised circulation of clean, filtered, air through the house can also help to remove pollutants that enter from elsewhere in the house, as well as dispersing mustiness and odours. A PIV system can lower the humidity in the house, which can also prevent dust mite populations from thriving. This can be another benefit for children and adults in the house who have asthma or allergies.
As warm air rises, roof spaces are often comparatively warm spaces, and as this air is moved by the fresh air coming in, it can have a slight but significant impact on the temperature of the house.
IntelliSwitch ST-CS Colour Screen Timer
The IntelliSwitch ST-CS automatic timer includes a 10m external temperature probe, room temperature display, clock display, 10A load rating, and features six modes of operation:
Timer Mode
4 programmable 7 day timers that are settable from 1 minute to 7 days.
Temperature Mode
For operating when the temperature is above/below a set point. Temperature measurement is selectable between the internal sensor and the external probe.
Temperature and Timer Mode
For combining temperature mode with timer mode.
Countdown Mode
A run-on timer that is settable from 1 minute to 7 days.
Boost Mode
Up to 8 hours additional run time without affecting timer operation.
Permanently On
Timer override.
DVS 200mm Flat Diffuser
Custom moulded DVS diffusers that are both attractive and designed specifically for ventilation.
DVS Air Filters
DVS air filters are installed with every positive input ventilation system.
DVS air filters are necessary to ensure the long life and effective operation of your positive input ventilation system. DVS air filters meet international air filter standards.

DVS Hybrid Helix Carbon Filter
Do you live in an area that always seems to have a bad smell? The carbon filter is the one for you. Known as the smell stopper, it is perfect for reducing odours that come from surrounding environments before entering the home.
A hybrid carbon filter featuring Helix technology. Suitable for use with all PIV systems.
Made Using New Zealand Wool
Scientifically developed by Lanaco, in New Zealand, using wool grown in New Zealand to create advanced filtration systems that enable you to enjoy healthier, safer air.
Lanaco’s Helix technology is so trustworthy it has been selected by NASA to protect astronauts in their next voyage to the moon. So, the same technology used in critical life support systems in space is found in the latest generation of DVS filters.
The Best of New Zealand Innovation
DVS’ new standard filter with Helix technology uses natural wool fibres, the world’s most positively charged fibre, to act as a magnet and capture those minute dust particles and airborne contaminants.
In fact, the new Helix wool filter is more than 99% efficient at 2.5 microns.
Its superior performance won’t affect the airflow of your system, keeping your fan working at the most efficient, and cost effective speed.
The chart attached shows comparison with other filter technologies illustrating how hard a fan needs to work for the desired result.
The DVS Standard Wool Filter with Helix technology delivers world class-leading performance with a lower environmental footprint.
Caring for the Environment
DVS created their latest filter using Helix technology with their customers and planet in mind, leading with science and sustainability.
Their new filter technology is made using biodegradable wool fibres making it more environmentally sustainable and better for our planet.
DVS have always offered their filters as an easy DIY option for customers wanting to change their own filter, which is why they have utilised a filter pocket design.
Progressing to Helix filtration has allowed DVS to retain a filter pocket design whilst at the same time increasing filtration efficiency: a win-win for our customers and our planet.
Benefits of Helix Filter Technology
Class-leading particle capture performance
Harmful particles are captured via the exceptional electrostatic capabilities of Helix MERV15 filters. This same technology has been scientifically developed for industrial, medical and respiratory health sectors.
Extremely breathable and super easy air flow
The Helix filter matrix offers superb breathability and much lower air flow resistance supporting a lower energy usage whilst still ensuring high particle removal.
Bacteria resistant
Wool fibres within Helix filters naturally resist and reduce the growth of bacteria and microbes on the fibre surface.
Natural way to reduce toxins
Natural wool fibres within Helix filters have an affinity for toxic vapours, safely and permanently eliminating them from the air.
Safer against fire
Natural wool fibres within Helix filters increase the flame retardancy, ensuring a safer filter in a compromised environment.
Eco-friendly and sustainable
Helix filters all contain naturally biodegradable wool fibres making it more environmentally sustainable and better for our planet.
