The galvanised steel vents are not suitable for installation in a coastal environment. For coastal environments, please use the 316 marine grade stainless steel vents, or alternatively our round 316 marine grade stainless steel eave vents available here.

October 2024: Please see our new Australian Made Bush Fire Rated Eave Vents which are a vastly superior product. We recommend them in all cases over this existing product.

June 2023: Factory Second  316 marine grade stainless steel vents available.

The manufacturer has released a new stainless steel version of the eave vents for coastal areas. Unfortunately the first shipment wasn't up to the standard that we expect, so they have agreed to let us sell them as factory seconds. We have reduced the price by 40% to match the galvanised steel vents. This offer is only while stock from the first shipment lasts.

Functionally there is nothing wrong with the vents. What can you expect:

  • A slight bend in the metal vent from the manufacturing process punching repeated holes into the metal sheet. This issue is minor as installation and fixing (with six screws in the marked locations) will correct the bend.
  • Some imperfections in the paint. This may include small patches of thin paintwork (generally only in one area on one side of the vent, but may be on both sides) or some contamination underneath the paint when viewed up close (see photos). This issue is cosmetic only and does not affect the performance of the vents. It is unlikely that you would be able to see it or discern the flaw once the vents have been installed.
  • An off-centred template. Some of the vents have been manufactured with all of the holes punched about 3mm off centre. This issue is minor and again cosmetic only.  It is unlikely that you would be able to see it or discern the flaw once the vents have been installed.

Description

Bush fire rated eave vents are unobtrusive and easy to install. They are covered in white powder coating.

Improve your roof space ventilation by allowing air to freely enter the roof space. If you have a whirlybird, you can substantially increase its performance and maximise its efficiency by allowing replacement air to freely enter the roof space.

We recommend four to eight eave vents per home for maximum roof space ventilation.

Great service and well made BAL rated eaves vent

Was looking for a BAL rated eaves vent and the 316 stainless from Fresh Ventilation fitted my needs perfectly while offering great value compared to alternatives. This is one of the only BAL rated vents currently available in the market and in my opinion an essential choice in a well designed roof ventilation system.

Plastic vires Bush Fire Rated Eave vVents

I was concerned with the plastic eave vents installed on our home so I had a fire risk assessment carried ,and as pointed out ,one most important arears overlooked are plastic vent covers in the eaves. In a small fire the plastic will melt this then causes an updraft into the ceiling space caring fire to spread. I found these Bush Fire Rated Eave Vent are ideal well constructed , powder coated and steel full recommend them. In fire prone areas plastics vents must be replaced

    Eave Vents

I was in need of some eave vents which had to meet BAL29 rating for our new residence under construction on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. A Google search led me to Fresh Ventilation’s website which had exactly what I was looking for.
I contacted them via phone to confirm availability etc., because I needed the product in a hurry. Cameron from Fresh Ventilation was extremely helpful.
I order and paid for the product and Cameron arranged express delivery via Australia Post. The product arrived at our Post Office the very next day, amazingly good service. Thank you Cameron! The product is exactly what I wanted, maximum ventilation and the right aperture size in a galvanised steel and painted product!

    Tony Hill

    Hello,

Does this vent have a fine backing mesh to prevent insect penetration??

    Regards,
    Tony.

    Fresh Ventilation

    Hi Tony

The front and back look exactly the same. The holes are only 2mm wide which I believe is the same as a fly screen.

If you require you could easily attach some fine backing mesh to the back of the vent before you screwed it into place.

Let me know I have some good tape that I could add a couple of meters of to your order.

    Regards Claire

    Hi Guys

I'm looking at using the Bush Fire Rated Eave Vent to meet a BAL40 build in Nowra
These grills will be part used with the exhaust fans from the Bathroom/Ensuite

Can you tell me if they have a spigot on the back to connect a 150mm duct - or can you provide an adaptor to suit

    Regards
    Pat

    Rod Lorden

Re the bushfire rated eave vent are you able to give me the actual vent area in mm squared.
Do you know if they are accepted for sub-floor ventilation in a BAL29 area fitted to CFS cladding.
    Regards, Rod Lorden.

    Fresh Ventilation

    Hi Rod,

Thank you for your questions. We have updated the description to include the surface area details.

They are BAL40 rated. The NCC building code formula requires 6,000mm2 of ventilation per lineal meter of wall. This allows for one vent approximately every 2.6m.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

    Claire

    Customer

    hi
can you tell me the depth of the vents as my eaves are raked and not much space above the lining
would the vents assist in rectifying condensation ,i have roof vents on the ridge
    thanks

    Fresh Ventilation

    Hi Michael,

The eave vents are approximately 0.8mm thick. They have no depth that protrudes into your eaves - just the screws which you fix them up with. 12mm button screws would probably protrude about 5mm above the eave sheeting.

Improving the airflow will always help with condensation. Provided there is a gap between your top plate of the wall, allowing airflow to enter the cavity, this would help to create airflow.
